Project Description

Project made for my illustration class. We had to design a series of four different stamps for Canada Post.
I chose the theme of barnyard animals but I made them cool. I decided to have fun with this project and create something silly. If these are going to decorate an envelope, might as well try to make people smile when they see it.

Process

This was really fun for me to make. The colors are nice and bright and bring a great party vibe to the illustration. I also liked designing shoes for each animal. I looked up different reference images but then incorporated symbols (eggs and wings for the chickee, daisies for the cow, stars for the pig and turkey feathers for the turkey).

I don’t really have a particular drawing style but this one was fun to work with since it’s mostly polygonal using the pen tool in Illustrator. This saved me from having to do perfect curves and looks really nice.
